Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-10

By using Notch ("the app"), you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose. If you don't agree, don't use the app — refunds are handled by Apple via the Mac App Store.

The app

Notch is a focus timer for macOS. It is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to ship working software, but we cannot guarantee that the app will be error-free or compatible with every Mac configuration.

Pricing and purchases

Notch is sold via the Mac App Store as a one-time purchase. The Pro upgrade is a non-consumable in-app purchase. There is no subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple — request via App Store → Purchase History → Report a Problem.

Family Sharing is enabled, allowing your purchase to be shared with up to 5 members of your iCloud family group.

Major version upgrades are included free of charge for users who purchased before the major version's release. Future major versions may be paid upgrades for new buyers, but we will not retroactively charge existing customers.

Intellectual property

Notch, the name, the design, and the source code are owned by Oleg Koval. The app is licensed (not sold) for personal use. You may not redistribute, decompile, or resell the app.

Privacy

See our Privacy Policy. Notch is local-only — we don't collect your data.

Liability

Notch is provided without warranty. We are not liable for any data loss, lost productivity, missed deadlines, or other damages arising from using the app. The maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be reflected here with the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
